AJL 27

Today marks as the first day Juma left us to Bangkok, Thailand for 2 weeks. This is the first trip of many more to come of this year to Juma. And today and 13 more days to come, I'll be staying in our new house with the kids, alone. So far so good. I cooked lunch, bought french fries from Mc Donald's for Maleec and fried nasi for dinner.

And Anugerah Juara Lagu 27 (AJL27) just finished. For those who doesn't know what is AJL, it is an annual music competition. This competition honours the song writer, rather than the singer itself. I've been watching AJL eversince I know how to watch tv. It's lovely to see how it evolves from year to year.

This year, as other years, 12 songs competed in the final. The songs are:

1. Terukir di Bintang ( Sang and Compose by Yuna)
It's a lovely song as the melody sounds a bit like old school. This song won this year title though Yuna wasn't able to perform during the competition. She is in the USA, recording her latest album. Aizat helped her to perfomed the song and he did this effortlessly awesome!

2. Ombak Rindu (sang by Hafiz & Adira)
This song became a phenomenon last year in Malaysia as it is the OST for a blockbuster movie, Ombak Rindu where Aaron Aziz is the hero in the movie.Besides, the singers were an item during the launching of the song. But their performance during AJL wasn't as good as others.

3. Tanpamu (Amir Jahari)
Sorry, I never heard this song before.

4. Idola (Sang by Azlan & Typewriter, Compose by Azlan)
With magnificient voice of Azlan and good lyric, this is a good song in my opinion. And the performance during AJL was great! I really enjoy the costume. It seems like Azlan loves to wear mask. He wore it when he with MUH, performing 'Untukmu' song in AJL previous year. Oh, they won the second place.

5. Pelangi Senja (sang by Stacy, compose by Taja)
Love to hear Stacy singing in other genre than the usual. The performance during AJL was great too. She looks plum a bit, though. And Taja played the guitar!

6. Lagu (Sang by Bedroom Sanctuary)
I've heard this song before. I though it is a song made for advertisement. Nice and relax song. The performance during AJL was fun.

7. Teman Penganti (Sang by Black and RJ, Compose by Malique)
I love Black's high pitch voice. I love the decoration of the stage of this song. Nice combo. They won the Best Performance Award.

8. Ku Akui (Sang by Hafiz, Compose by Ajai)
Good song, but, what do you expect?! It came from Ajai and who doesn't know Ajai in Malaysia music industry. This song won the third place and Best Vocal. But again, who can deny Hafiz's talent?

9. Simetri (Sang by Hazama & Amy Search)
Hmm.. just a normal song sang by talented people. The dread locks look good on you, Amy!

10. Andaiku Bercinta Lagi (Sang by Mojo, Compose by Edry Halim)
I love this song! Why? I'm  big fan of KRU since I was in primary school. I love the lyric of the song at every bit. I love the voice of the vocal, Aweera.

11. Patah Seribu (Sang and Compose by Shila Amzah)
Great song! Seriously, it is awesome. This song won Song of the Year in AIM 2012.

12. Anak Kampung (Sang by One Nation Emcee and  Jimmy Palikat)
Very funky song indeed. And a great performance during AJL as well. In my opinion, this song deserves the Best Performance Award. But, yeah, the determination of the winner is via sms.

I think TV3 did a great job. The hosts' script was well written, the prop was well planned, the special effect was amazing... the who;e show was entertaining. Kudos to TV3!
