Me-Time

Assalamualaikum!

How's your day so far. Mine is good, but seems it is summer, the weather is pretty hot and it kinds of driving my spirit away. Once the clock ticks to 1pm, my eyes will automatically calling for a shut off. Argghh!!

Alhamdullilah for today, my strength to stay awake is stronger and here I am, enjoying my me-time. I'm sitting on the sofa, laptop on my lap and writing this blog. Yes, that is my me-time.

I think you are having a time off for yourself when you are reading this. And I hope I feed you with something worthy because time is precious for mothers. How do you define me-time? To ma, anything free from work, kids and something that I can on my own without worrying about anything- is a me-time. But how I enjoy my me-time is different from the time I have a child and when I have two children.

Back when I had Maleec without Aaron, my me-time means out to the shopping mall, or pampering myself in spa, or hanging out with friends in cafe. And when I was in Malaysia, it was affordable to have that kind of me-time as well. I sent them to my mother-in-law and off I go. But it is not usually happened. Perhaps once in a blue moon.

But now, since I'm alone in Perth, me-time is having a complete time for myself on bed while Aaron and Maleec are playing, or when Aaron is sleeping and Maleec is watching television, or when their daddy takes care of them. I also enjoy watching tv series on my laptop, but it only happens when all my kids are fast asleep at night.

I don't think I have more me-time when I have a child compare to when I have two children. But the way I enjoy it is different.

How about working mothers? When do they find their me-time? In my opinion, working mother has more me-time than stay at home mother. While at work, you are child-free, out for lunch with friends, have time not to think about you house condition. But again, the definition depends on how you see the situation.

Time for yourself wouldn't come to you as a mother, but you have to earn it. manage your time, manage your expectation and in shaa allah, you will find it. If you have some spare time, use it wisely, because time is precious.

Cheers!

Sleeping beauty

Women love to dress up for work and party. But do you dress up to go to bed?

I always neglect in dressing up for my sleep. Not that I don't fancy sexy nightwear, but I prefer the comfy ones (read as big t-shirt, short, a pair of ankle length socks). Not that my husband never complain, but I'm use to wearing those for bed.

But no harm to change, right? So let's get some idea what should I look like in bed? The attire, I mean!

1. Camisole and women boxer

H&M

Sexy: Can show off my butt cheeks
Comfy: It is 2-piece, bingo!

2. Sleep  tee

XOXO

Sexy: Wear nothing below and your husband will find hard to sleep!
Comfy: It is from cotton, read as stretchable.

3. Sleep shirt

Forever 21

Sexy: A business look in bed? Sounds like a play to me!
Comfy: The cutting is loose, allow you to move 'aggressively' on bed :)

4. Pajamas

Sexy: The 'cover it all' will make the 'treasure hunt' game more interesting.
Comfy: Unlike the sleep shirt, this set will keep you warm at the down south area.

5. Sexy nighties

Forever 21
Sexy: Of course! Every inch! Regardless what shape is your body, you'll look like the amazing Miranda Kerr in nighties, trust me!
Comfy: Perhaps you wouldn't need one after the exhausting activity due to this sleepwear!

6. Naked

Purrrr!!!

I'll try all the above and will update you soon, which one I prefer. And my husband favorite, too!

Me-Time

How are you? I'm fine thank you. Still surviving and syukur with what I have till today.

How's your day today? Mine is fine. Like other day, there's peak and non-peak time, like highway! Hahaha. Right now I'm enjoying my 'own time'. Aaron and Maleec are having 'evening' nap while Juma is still at work though it is 7.35 pm now. Well, everyday I have to have my 'me-time'.

As other mothers consider their me-time as shopping, relaxing in spa or a long lunch with a bunch of friends. That's 'me-time' to me too. But I would like to have a time on my own everyday without leaving the house. It is as simple as letting me be in my thought.

Baking is a 'me-time' as well. While mixing the ingredient, I'll imagine when I have my own bakery and the customers are asking for more from me. While bathing (usually when Maleec is playing with Aaron. Aaron is a boy who loves water and want to be under water at most of the time. Maybe he is a fish. Maybe he isn't a mammal.), I'll love to visualize of me in few years time. How successful would I be!) Or while driving and listening to the music, I love to let my thought flow, to everywhere. That's what I consider as my 'me-time'.

Some women whining that they don't have time for themselves. In my opinion, the time wouldn't come to you. But you have to find it. You have to figure it out how to get it. I think you have to find way how to earn it. Since I becoming a housewife, to a bungalow that to me is quite big for a tiny person like myself to manage; I did a schedule. A work schedule. By doing this, I know when should I change the bed sheet, sweep and mop the floor, scrub the toilet and to do others. I also have my weekend, like other workers too! On Monday, I didn't schedule any house chores because I might run my errand on that day or I can adjust the working schedule if any emergency happens in that week! I also didn't cramps the schedule, as I rwalize I'm a human and not a robot!

I also learn how to say enough! I just recently learned how to say it so. If before, I'll work non-stop around the clock and it didn't benefit anybody. I'm tired, my kids get upset as I easily get angry and the quality of the work is not at the best.

So good luck in finding your 'me-time' and let me know if you have any tips that it might be useful!

Let's get there!

**Everytime I want to start blogging, it will end I'm browsing the Facebook pages, read gossip blogs.. bla.. bla.. bla! Such a distraction! Focus, Fatin, focus!

I bet every of you have a dream place to visit. Many of us work hard to achieve those dreams. But others (like me), we just live with the dream. We will keep on dreaming till we wake up.

But I want to dream out loud by sharing it with you. I'm a person who love to be at the beach or visit big city and try to blend in. I'm not into historic place (though I love History subject) or exploring the thick forest or climbing the mountain. !Warning! I might update this post from time to time as I might add the latest dream place I wanna go!

1. Malta

I know about this country from a friend of mine who visited the place with her mother. From then on, I started to search about the country and its beach. The more I see the picture of the blue Mediterranean ocean and the beautiful Azure Window, make me feel like going there now!

2. Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

This is one of the favorite place for Lauren Conrad. And I love to go there too! This is my first choice for honeymoon, but Juma refused to get there as it is goddamn far away from MY. And there isn't any direct flight from MY to Cabo (obviously!). But I can imagine myself, lying at the beach, tanning my skin while watching handsome guys pass by!

3. Greece

Ok! I speak too soon! This is one of the historic place I want to visit. And also the geography of the country is unique.

Omg! I'm so sleepy! Will continue soon!!

Hijab in Me

Raya preparation is not end yet. One more thing that is not done yet is my Hijab. I still couldn’t get the right hijab for my baju kurung. For those who don’t know what is baju kurung, actually it is a Malay traditional costume. It consists of a long blouse with a skirt.

My history of wearing hijab starts few years ago. It happened in Kuwait, where I lived with my husband and our newborn baby, Maleec Ismael. My mother gave me lectures on the importance of covering my head and other part of my body since I was 15. But my ego was huge at that time, as I refused to do that though I know I have to bear with the consequences when qiamat (doomsday).

However, my pregnancy and child delivery changed my opinion about hijab. It's all because of my love towards my husband. He was there with me during my pain, holding my hands. From his face I knew he wished I could transfer the pain to him. During my confinement, he was the focal person; fetching Maleec from the crib for breastfeeding and helped Maleec to burp after he was full. In short, he was by my side all the time, going through the hardship with me. And I know he did that because he loves me so much and it is his duties to do all the stuff. He did his part and I didn't do my par Why did I say I didn't do my part?

My first appearance with head scarf
In Islam, a woman has to cover her entire body except for her face and hand in front of non-mahram man. Thus, covering your hair is a must too as it is a part of awrah, otherwise, it is a sin. Once the woman is married, her husband has the responsibility to take care of the woman, including teaching her to practise the lifestyle as a Muslim.

I don't want my husband to carry my sin just because of my ego. That is the reason why I change my image. It was easy after all. I don't have to throw away my wardrobe, rather I just need to add more jackets and cardigans to cover my bare arms. My mother was happy with the new me. She gave me lots of hijab. My husband was speechless and completely support my decision.

I was ashamed when I went to the shop to get my first scarf. The woman asked me whether I just converted to Islam. I told her I was born as a Muslim, but only now I take the Islam law seriously.

I'm happy that I've changed to what I'm now. I love my current image, but now I have a major mission to complete: getting a new scarf by today! Can you help me?

Anyway, I watched few hijab tutorial, tutorial, tutorial at youtube. Let me share with you, perhaps some might suit your style! Enjoy!

I Am Happy!

I feel good today. So good! So good!

Ok, hihihi... lemme story mory what happened today....

Eventually I applied a position in IRC-RSC as Caseworker. I'm excited (yes, till now!) when I learned that I was shortlisted for interview. I studied as if I have to get four flat. I studied hard.

And of course I managed to answered all the questions well.

But what made me so happy today is that I had the opportunity to be in UNHCR compound! OMG! It's like dream come true. That is a real battle. Helping out refugees is forever an emergency response.

Thanks so much for the opportunity!

Multi-Tasking

Who never perform multi-tasking in their life? I bet everubody experience muti-tasking in daily life, e.g brushing your teeth while under shower or watching television and eating at the same time.

I appreciate time so much. I value every second that I have. And I always believe that I can achieve a lot of things in a short time if we plan it well. I hope my confession wouldn't leave people with wild judgement on me. Actually I always count each time I make steps, e.g when I'm putting on clothes or the time I spend in the shower.

To be frank, I 'm quite proud that I can do multi-tasks in many tasks! I always brag about this to my husband.

However, I just found a thing that I can't do it together with other stuffs: EATING!! Since I have kids, usually I can't eat in peace. Normally I have to stop in the middle of it to do other stuffs; e.g giving them food, changing their diaper, becoming referee and many more. I lose weight since I'm becoming a mother and right now I'm INVESTIGATING the reasons of my weight loss. I figure out that multi-tasking while eating is one of the culprits because at the end.. I wouldn't finish up my food.

Conclusion: NO MULTI-TASKING WHILE EATING!!!
